Adams Adoption

May 5, 2012

To Our Dearest Friends and Family,

Wow, it has been over 7 years since we have written a letter like this. We have been able to stay in close contact with many of you but it has been via email and or facebook. I am not going to lie, I like the good old fashion snail mail way of communicating. I think it is a forgotten art. So, the Adams are bringing the art back around starting now.

We have the most incredible honor and privilege to bring home 3 of the most beautiful Haitian babies ever. We were officially matched with our daughters about 3 weeks ago. We have given them new names already and weekly we are receiving updates and photos of their progress and care. The 3 year old twins are named Hope Elaine and Apple Renee. The newborn baby girl is named Haven Clara. She had a very rough start at life and was found in the cold by a village gal. She was turned into a local crèche and has been thriving ever since. All three of our daughters have been through more tragedy than I care to tell but the thought and hope that carries me through every moment is that God is a God of redemption. Already their stories are being redeemed and for that, I give thanks.

Many of you know that we have been through a ton of loss this past year. After 7 years of trying to grow our family, I was able to get pregnant this past fall. This past December we lost the baby right around 8 weeks. Daddy named her Amber Eilene, meaning God’s soft jewel. We think of her often and do our best to give thanks that she is dancing in heaven with the angels. Then this past February we were matched with a beautiful daughter from Haiti all to find out we were one of many families matched with the same child that didn’t even exist. It was an adoption scam. We do not seek to bring anyone down from this situation so we choose instead to pray over this agency that they will begin to do things in a manner that honors God.

Then in March a wonderful lady reached out to us after reading our story online www.annagail.net and she said, “God is going to bless you double for your obedience and faithfulness.” It was about 2 weeks later, we were contacted by a reliable crèche in Haiti and come to find out; we knew many of the parents that had adopted from this crèche. This was legit. Still being a bit skeptical, we moved forward with caution. It didn’t take us but a few telephone conversations and emails to know, God brought us here. Shortly after, we were matched with our beautiful daughters and our lives have been consumed with fund raising, sharing our story to anyone who will listen, contacting corporations, churches, you name it. Now, we are contacting you, our closest friends and family to ask you to get involved in our story. Involvement can look many different ways. Sharing our story, reposting our links if you have facebook, donating money online, mailing a check, saving pop cans, donating unused furniture, donating clothes, diapers, formula, bunk beds, shoes, twin sheets, comforters and anything God lays on your heart for our children.

We need to raise $36,000 to bring our girls home. Each adoption costs $12,000 and that does not include their passports, visas, authentication or travel. We are required to make 2 trips to Haiti. First trip is to spend a week getting to know our daughters and the second trip will be to bring them home forever. In this season of our life, Jared and I made the incredible leap of faith by me quitting my full time consulting job to be a stay at home mom and to home school our daughters. Faith and Grace are doing incredibly well and I dare say this is the best job I have ever been honored to have. Jared is currently learning a new trade in web design and is picking up fast. The steady income won’t kick in until his training curve is over. We are grateful for this new opportunity. Yes we are still focused on music but as many of you already know, our label said this could take 3 to 5 years to get off the ground so in the mean time, we refuse to sit idle. We move onward and give thanks.

If after reading our letter you feel a tug to be a part of our story, we would be honored to have you aboard. We will make a seat just for you on our bus and for those of you who are local or those of you who like to fly, you will always have a place in our home. We love to host visitors and feed our visitors well! We invite you to follow our journey as much as you can via facebook and via our website www.annagail.net under Jennifer’s blog. We post a lot of updates and fun photos.
